PACEMAKER TED STAR PERFORMER AT CURRAHEEN PARK

Barry Drake

There was one performance of note from Curraheen Park on Saturday night with Pacemaker Ted (Laughil Blake-Droopys Harbour) making the most of the drop-in class to win the closing race on the card.

Trained by Johnny Linehan for owners for the Blarney-Racing-Syndicate, the April puppy delivered a superb performance to land the spoils. Breaking quickly from trap six, he turned second around the opening corners as Baby Trick was setting a strong early pace. Taking over midway down the back straight, the 9-4 winner quickly put the race to bed. Opening up in front, he pulled four and a half lengths clear of the early pacesetter, in a quick, 28.28.
