MINGLERS OMEGA MAKES IT BACK TO BACK VICTORIES IN FINE STYLE

Barry Drake

The Casey's Caravan and Camping Park unraced stake reached its semi-final stage in Waterford on Saturday night and it produced two outstanding semi-finals.

MINGLERS OMEGA (Sparta Maestro-Minglers Suarez) going quickest on the clock when making it back to back victories for Eddie Moore in the second semi-final. Quickest into stride, the 6-4 joint-favourite easily led around the opening bends. Soon a couple of lengths clear, the outcome never looked in doubt as the winner maintained a strong pace throughout.  Desert Blake ran on well for second but was still three lengths behind the impressive winner, in 28.46, with a further two lengths back to Hunters Buzz in third place.

OPENING HEAT

FORWARD PUSH (Confident Rankin-Spiden Lizzie) landed the opening heat for Matthew Ryan.

In front heading into the opening corners, the 3-1 shot then showed a big injection of pace to slip clear. Favourite Da Big Chungus lost all chance at the traps after stumbling badly. However, take nothing away from the winner as the December puppy showed big gears to land the spoils. At the line, he was eleven and a half lengths clear of Da Big Chungus, in 28.70. Three and a half lengths back to Dashing King in third.
