Woodbrook Laurel (Laughil Blake-Kilbarry Sharpe) went quickest on the clock at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.
In the ownership of Phil Collins, the 4-1 shot posted a career-best performance when making all the running in the closing race. In front early, the winner showed plenty of back straight pace to put the race to bed. Maintaining a powerful pace throughout, he came home six lengths clear of Sportsmans Eske, in a fabulous, 28.22.
PLENTY OF EARLY SPEED
Showing plenty of early speed to overcome a wide draw, Jumeirah Bridge (Droopys Jet-Jumeirah Lolls) delivered a fine performance to take the third of the night.
Trained by Gerry Holian for owner Denis Curtin, the 4-5 market leader quickly shot clear heading down the back straight. Byrneville Abbey ran a big race in second, four and a half lengths behind, in 28.46.
TWO WHEEL TRAINING FINAL
Another to overcome a wide draw was Ballymac Trudi (Ballymac Eske-Coolavanny Pet) who delivered a top-class performance to win race eight, the final of the €1,000 Two Wheel Training A0 Stake Final.
Trained by Kieran Lynch for owners John Quinn and John Maher, the well-bred winner, a litter sister to Pestana, absolutely bolted from traps to lead. Moving inwards on the run-up, the 3-1 winner flew around the opening turns in front and soon shot five lengths clear. Priceless Blake began to chase the leader down but she wasn't stopping upfront and came home with a length and a half to spare over Priceless Blake, in 28.47. Four lengths back to Nitro Glycerin in third place.
