The opening round of the Grangeview Ten @ Stud 525 featured on last night’s Galway card and of the five heats on display, it was Ardera Fifi who followed up on her victory last time out with another polished performance to go quickest.

Kindly sponsored by Michael Hogan, the Grangeview Ten @ Stud 525 offers an eventual winner’s prize of €1,900 and it was well received with five heats down for decision last night. Ardera Fifi was a fine winner on her last career start and she made it a quick-fire double for the Toi-Toi-Toi syndicate to record the fastest of the five heats.

A winner in trap-to-line fashion on her last start. Ardera Fifi was once again professional from the outset as she flashed from trap three to lead on the run-up from Grangeview Best in second. Tracking expertly around the opening corner, Ardera Fifi was well on her way to victory as she extended her lead to ten lengths down the back, while setting a scorching gallop in the process. The result never in doubt, the daughter of Skywalker Farloe - Cabra Roxy raced to a comfortable victory in the end as she accounted for a five length win over Grangeview Best, who finished well in behind. The time was 29.18 for the 2/1 market chance.

The second heat of the night was landed by Ballaghboy Panda as he recorded a fourth career victory for Jerry Moloney and Patrick O’Driscoll. An extremely versatile tracker holding a record of nine top-two finishes from thirteen starts, Ballaghboy Panda went to traps a 4/1 chance and he was swiftly into stride from trap five to take control entering the opening corner. From here, the son of Lenson Panda - Sues Music stuck to his task well to seal a two length victory over Stouke Hero in second. The time was 29.40.

Heat three saw Kentucky justify his 6/4 favourites tag for owner Thomas Burke. A winner of two of his three starts prior to last night, Kentucky was only moderately into stride from trap three but he took the ascendency upon entrance to the back straight after a brilliant burst of early speed. Maintaining a decent gallop thereafter, the son of Jaytee Jet - Droopys Breeze stayed on well in the closing stages to see off the fast finishing Springwell Zoey by three parts of a length. The time was 29.50.

Errill Cindy claimed heat four with a strong finish for owner Tommy Morrissey. A well-bred daughter of Belles Direction and Geelo Lu Lu, Errill Cindy had some decent Thurles form prior to coming to Galway and she got off the mark at the Connacht venue at the third time of asking. Leading early from trap three, Errill Cindy was solid throughout but it was the final fifty yards where she really stepped it out a gear. Running out a comfortable three and a half length winner in the end from Raha Ranger in second, the time for the 3/1 shot was 29.30.

The final heat of the night resulted in Askingforafriend making it back-to-back wins for the Hey-You-Sir syndicate. A winner over the sprint distance last time out, Askingforafriend showed he is more than capable of proving an asset over the four bends as he came from off the pace to take control at the penultimate corner. Staying on well with the winning line in sight, the heavyweight son of Reikers Island - Bower Judie, a 3/1 shot, claimed a one length win over Ard Jet in second. The time was 29.30.
