Peter Farrell

The kennel of Tommy Morrissey is absolutely flying at present and Errill Tarzan has contributed massively to that success.

An August 18’ son of Tarsna Havana - Mandeville Can, Errill Tarzan is one of the most in form greyhounds in the Country at present and the talented sprinter was chasing a sixth victory from his last seven starts when taking to traps in the Centernary Agri Open/S1 330 at Thurles Park last night. Perfectly housed in trap one, ‘Tarzan’ took no prisoners on the run to the opening corner as he showed sizzling early gears to storm up the rails and take a clear lead into the opening corner. Not breaking stride between the bottom two bends, Morrissey’s charge was home and hosed as he duly crossed the line with three lengths to spare. The time, as expected, was a very slick 17.87 for a greyhound who has really come of age since the return to racing in June.

Shortly before that, Tommy Morrissey had already gotten on the scoresheet as Errill Toolate recorded his second win from his last three starts.

A handily sized son of Toolatetosell - Shanlish, Errill Toogood must be taking trapping lessons from his aforementioned kennel companion as he was inch perfect at traprise to show a fine turn of pace approaching the opening bend. Once in front, he was always going to be a tough nut to crack and despite the best efforts of Borna Rhythm in second, the bird had well and truly flown out in front. Three and a half lengths better off at the winning line, Errill Toolate recorded a fine calculated time of 28.83.
