DOUBLE DELIGHT FOR DOWLING IN COURSING BRED SWEEP

DOUBLE DELIGHT FOR DOWLING IN COURSING BRED SWEEP

Barry Drake

Liam Dowling will hold a very strong hand in the final of the Red & White Collar Coursing Bred Sweep in Tralee next weekend.

On Saturday night, Dowling recorded success in both semi-finals. Just like previous weeks, Ballymac Rule (Newinn Wonder-Ballymac Town) went quickest on the clock with another magnificent 17.54 winning run. In front before the opening corner, the outcome was never in doubt. Such a strong runner, he pulled clear to win in style.

Crafty Magnifico showed plenty of pace to finish second, three and a half lengths back, with three-quarters of a length back to Off To Chicago.

BALLYMAC DOUBLE

Ballymac Floral (Newinn Wonder-Ballymac Town) really impressed in the opening heat.

Ballybeg Wonder broke best to lead, but the winner always looked dangerous in second. In a great battle, it was Ballymac Floral who finished the stronger, getting the verdict by a length from Ballybeg Wonder in second. Half a length back to Wallace Marie in third, the time a very smart, 17.59.
