CABRA BLITZES THE FIELD AT THURLES

CABRA BLITZES THE FIELD AT THURLES

Peter Farrell

Cabra Blitz was the star performer at Thurles Park last night as she landed the luck last in style for owner Paul Scally.

No stranger to dipping under the 29 second barrier, Cabra Blitz is a well bred daughter of ‘Pat C Sabbath - Cabra Fifi’ and she really turned on the afterburners last night as she ran out a convincing winner of race ten. Fast away wearing the blue jacket, Cabra Blitz led the field a merry dance into the opening corner and she set a fierce gallop along the far side. No match for her rivals, Scally’s charge came home over six lengths too good for nearest rival, Allowdale Shelly in second. The time was a swift calculated 28.57.

HAT TRICK FOR RORY

One of the most consistent greyhounds in the Country of late is that of the Patsy Richardson owned Faithful Rory and his greyhound made it three wins on the spin over the 570 yards last night.

Chasing a eighth career win, Faithful Rory came away on terms from trap five but showed the superior early gears to surge to the front at the opening corner and he took a two length lead into the back straight. From here, the son of ‘Mall Brandy - Faithful Fairy’ pressed home his advantage to eventually come home over two lengths in front of On Stage Poppy in second. The time was very fast, 30.90.
