Rásaíocht Con Éireann (Greyhound Racing Ireland), having regard to the present national situation on COVID-19 , wishes to advise Owners and Trainers of revised access arrangements to Stadia whilst racing behind closed doors continues.

From today date the following arrangements will take effect

  • - Racing will continue behind closed doors with the existing protocols in place around racing procedures .
  • - Access to the stadium for Owners and Trainers will be strictly on the need to fulfil their racing obligations.
  • - Owners and Trainers may access the stadium normally for weigh in (existing “one person one greyhound” protocol)
  • - Owners and Trainers are required to leave the stadium after their greyhound(s) has/have been kennelled and wait in their vehicle until the time comes to race their greyhound. No access to the stadium is available to owners and trainers to view any racing.
  • - Owners and Trainers must not congregate in car parks/outside vehicles.
  • Owners and Trainers should present for racing in the usual manner, 15 mins before their scheduled off time to retrieve greyhounds from kennels and prepare for racing.
  • - Once an Owner or Trainer has fulfilled their obligation for racing, and having seen to the immediate needs of their greyhound, they should exit the stadium and proceed home.

The above arrangements are strictly being put in place to further enhance public health measures at Stadia and to ensure racing at Stadia continues for all Owners and Trainers in a manner that is safe for all. Co-operation with all Stadium and Rásaíocht Con Éireann Staff is essential to ensure racing continues in the current very challenging circumstances.
