RAPID SOLD AND JOINS BOON

After two stunning displays of blistering early speed in recent weeks at Shelbourne Park, Ballymac Rapid has changed hands and will be joining Kevin Boon across the pond.

Graham Box and his partner Bev Lochead confirmed the news on Wednesday afternoon that they had completed the deal with Liam Dowling and the brilliantly fast son of Ballymac Best and Ballymac Ariel will be aimed at the top competitions for his new handler.

Said Graham, “He’s a really nice dog. He looks to have serious early speed and he could be ideal for the likes of the Gold Cup at Monmore and the East Anglian Derby at Yarmouth. We’ve done plenty of business with Liam over the years and he’s always a pleasure to deal with. Hopefully, this fella turns out to be lucky for us.”

Indeed, Ballymac Rapid really does look made for the sharper tracks in the UK. The long run to the turn at Yarmouth will certainly play to his strengths, while Monmore also looks right up his street. He will be renamed and likely carry the ‘Bockos’ prefix but, as we speak, no name has been chosen.
