WONDERFUL COSARD STEALS THE SHOW AT LIMERICK

WONDERFUL COSARD STEALS THE SHOW AT LIMERICK

Peter Farrell

There were several top class performances during Limerick’s SIS meeting last night but the highlight of the night was undoubtedly Cosard Wonder as the DGR syndicate owned greyhound posted a very impressive 28.56 .15f.

A September 18’ whelp, Cosard Wonder was seeking a second win from just the six starts and well housed in red, he was smartly intro stride to chase Dannos Diamond into the opening corner. Running a superb bend however, Cosard Wonder hit the front off the second bend and proceeded to draw clear with two hundreds yards to go. Setting a blistering gallop late on, the son of Confident Rankin - Buffys Girl was too strong thereafter as he stayed on well to beat Treaty Star by four lengths. The time for the 100/30 chance was a brilliant 28.56 .15f.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS

WISH WINS WELL

There was another impressive display in the opening race of the night as Wishahowareyou made light work of his A4 contest.

Owned by Noel Sexton, Wishahowareyou hadn't tasted success since June of this year but that run was to come to an end as he flew from trap two to lead early doors. Once in front, it was a formality for the son of Head Bound - Now Its Alex as he tracked expertly around the bottom two bends to come home a comfortable, five and three quarter length winner. The time for the 7/2 shot was a slick 28.67 .15f.

RIO WINS AGAIN

Not too far behind on the clock was O Garney Rio and Helen Coffee’s runner made it eleven career wins with a trap to line success.

A Limerick specialist, O Garney Rio was quickly into stride wearing the red jacket and he paced up the rail to lead around the opening corner. In familiar territory down the back straight, the son of Rio Quattro - Sierro Zorro was setting a decent gallop but it was the last fifty yards where he really started to motor. Pulling clear late on, O Garney Rio came home four lengths clear of Mohane Duchess at the winning line with the 5/1 shot posting a fine time of  28.68 .15f.
