TWITTERSTORM BACK WITH A BANG

Barry Drake

TWITTERSTORM has long been one of the stars around Youghal and the Mark Drinan-trained dog notched the 11th win of his career with a smashing display in the A1.

Seaview Lexi flew from traps to lead early but the winner, a powerful runner, turned a close second. In front by the third turn, he ran on strongly to post a four-length victory over Kilrush Star, in 29.30, on a slow track.

BRIGHT START

Godfather, an October ’19 son of Confident Rankin and Jalingo, made a bright start to his career by taking the opener for Michael Moloney.

The half-brother to former Easter Cup winner Wolfe made all for an impressive 29.40 victory.

MOLONEY DOUBLE

The Moloney family doubled up when Portrait, owned by Marian, took the fifth race, an A4.

A nice touch of early pace carried him clear into the first turn and with some scrimmaging behind he was able to race away to a wide-margin win in 29.43.

PICKED UP STRONGLY

Kerryroad Peg secured a third win in just 12 outings with a fine display in the A2.

Kevin McLean’s bitch led up, was passed by favourite Falcon around the opening bend, but picked up strongly to get back up for a one-length victory in 29.40.

ANOTHER WINNER FOR JOE

The classy Rapid Jack, trained by Joe Crotty, wrapped up the night’s action with a strong-running performance in the finale, an A2.

Witches San Jose led to the home straight, but the winner shot proved too strong, in a fastest-of-the-night 29.29.
