There were several quality performances last night at Limerick’s SIS meeting but it was the performance of Treaty Pearl which mostly caught the eye as she posted the fastest time of the session.

Owned by Tony Barry and Donna Daly, Treaty Pearl has been in decent form since the return to racing and has consistently dipped under the 29 second mark in recent outings. However, the daughter of ‘Droopys Cain - Treaty Lady’ really stepped it up a notch last night as she recorded a time of 28.63 .20f when landing her A1/A2 event. Well away from trap one, Treaty Pearl was headed early on by Sheriff from trap four but soon gained the initiative just off the opening turn. There wasn’t a whole lot in it down the back straight but Treaty Pearl was determined to get her head in front and she came home over a length to the good over Sheriff, who was forced to settle for second. A really likable performance from this August 18’ whelp.

Elsewhere on the card there were familiar faces in the winners enclosure as both Snuggie Bootsy and Lissatouk Bruno came through to claim their 13th career victories.

Owned by Breda Casey, Snuggie Bootsy was chasing a hat trick of wins and he was his usual consistent self at traps as he pinged out in front from trap five. Once in front, it was difficult to envisage anything other than a victory and the son of ‘Sir Paddy - Snuggie Whisper’ duly obliged. Holding all the aces throughout, Snuggie Bootsy came home five lengths clear as the clock returned a decent 28.97 .20f.

Later in the card, another greyhound sealed a trio of victories as Lissatouk Bruno led from the outset for owner James McMahon.

Also chasing an impressive 13th career victory, Lissatouk Bruno broke only moderately wearing the blue jacket and occupied the minor placings in the early yards. However, using all of his track craft, the son of ‘Holdem Spy - Lissatouk Dolly’ hit the front down the back straight and held off the late challenge of Orlando Aidan in second to land the spoils. A length and a half in it at the winning line, the time was 28.98 .20f.

Runontheinside made every yard of the running last time out at Limerick before being caught by the smart Typical Beach but the Donal Cooney trained runner got things right last night to break his duck in fine style.

Quickly into stride wearing the orange jacket, Runontheinside (Ballymac Vic - Glenlee) showed the superior early gears into the opening corner and the race already had the look of a solo even at this early stage. Owned by Ciaran and Darren Cooney, Runontheinside breezed down the back straight and stuck to his guns well up the home straight to record a comfortable three and a half length victory. The time was a smart 28.81 .20f

Not too far behind on the clock was Madams Minx who finished strongly to land race three for owners Brenda Peters and Christine Peck.

A lightly raced March 17’ whelp, Madams Minx was still chasing her first career win but she was well away from trap one which aided her attempts to break her duck. It was Portdrine Lord who she needed to catch last night and after holding on to his coat tails throughout, the daughter of ‘Knockglass Billy - Madams Babe’ pounced late on to claim a length victory. The winning time was a smart 28.83 .20f.

Like the aforementioned Snuggie Bootsy and Lissatouk Bruno, Iron Sky is another greyhound who is enjoying his racing at present and he sealed back to back wins in race five.

Owned and trained by Eugene Corkery, Iron Sky was professional at traps and it was his blue jacket who showed the better of the early gears to outpace his rivals to the opening turn. Showing a lovely turn of foot down the back straight, the son of ‘Romeo Recruit - She Goes Nowhere’ tracked well thereafter and stayed on strongly close home to record a four length victory. The time was 28.97 .20f.
