There were a number of smart performances at Youghal on Wednesday night and the highlight of the night was the 29.12 winning performance of the John Kiely trained Areyouathome in race nine.
Owned by Anne Marie Keane, Cork, the 6-4 market leader broke best, leading around the opening turns, the May puppy was in cruise control heading down the back. Staying on well, the daughter of Laughil Blake came home with three lengths to spare over Battle. (A4).
Castlemary Jack delivered another stunning performance in race four, making it back-to-back wins for the kennel of Aidan Barry, Midelton.
Up two grades into A2 company after his recent winning performance, the 3-1 winner didn't produce his quickest start, but he showed electric early gears to lead around. Portrait was within a length at the third corner, but the winner kept finding and he beat Slaneyside Adler, by half a length, in 29.22.
JACK JUST GOT UP
The feature race of the night produced a fantastic finish with Rapid Jack just getting up to spoil the party on Slaneyside Major.
Owned by Joe Crotty, Dungarvan, Rapid Jack was five lengths down at the second last corner, the 9-2 winner took off up the home straight and he got the better of the front running Slaneyside Major, by a short head, in 29.08.
Ringo Kid (5-1) battled extremely well to fend off the persistent challenge of Baunfaun Rodney in the tenth of the night.
Owned by Pat Moloney, Garryvoe, the son of Tullymurry Act was game in front, winning by half a length, in 29.24.
