SLANEYSIDE FERN bounced back to form with a vengeance with a storming display in the A3 on last night’s card in Youghal.

Derek Kehoe’s bitch turned close to the pace and soon set her sights on the lead. After moving past Seaview Misty early in the back straight, she ran on strongly to beat Witches Phoenix by a length and a half in a career-best 28.81.

Dromana Rocky made an impressive start to his career in the opener. Representing Gearoid and Gerald O’Brien, the July ’19 whelp showed pace to lead and then go clear around the opening bends. Thereafter, he strode home nine lengths ahead of Demise Rose in 29.13.

Mega Mary got up late to win the A1 for Joe Crotty. Watch Out Girl showed her customary early dash to lead, but the winner turned in second place. In fairness to the leader, she kicked again from the turn for home, but Mega Mary produced a big effort to prevail by a head in 29.18.

The lightly raced Fishing Love produced a cracking performance in the A4. Trained by Paddy Cullinane the big finisher turned reasonably close, tracked the final bends brilliantly, and flew home to win impressively in 29.19.

Nonevernomore, a litter brother to Dromana Bucko, took the 11th in great style. Thomas Hannon’s dog led early, was passed by Ballydorgan Duke, but battled on again to get up in the final strides for a narrow win in 28.98.
