FLYING RUNS IN YOUGHAL

FLYING RUNS IN YOUGHAL

Barry Drake

Kerryroad Butch, owned and trained by Kevin McLean, Clonmel, was the headline maker at Youghal track on Wednesday night.

It's not often we see the 29-second barrier broken and this daughter of Droopys Sydney-Eleanors Moment delivered a stunning display in race four, an A2, with a five and a half-length victory, in a fabulous, 28.87. Quickest into stride, she sailed around the opening corners in front. A 10-3 chance in the market, she maintained a scorching pace throughout. Rising Lava best of the rest in second.

ALL ABOUT WAGGA

John Kenny's Wagga Maid bounced back to her very best in race seven, an A2.

A 4-1 chance, she bolted from traps and made all the running to win with three lengths to spare. Conna Maxi was always second. The time a really quick 29.02.

FIVE FROM FIVE FOR DEERJET

Race 11, an A3, went the way of Deerjet Blue who was making it five straight wins for the Tech-Syndicate, Killeagh.

The even-money favourite landing a few decent bets in a most impressive 29.26. Cleary an improving sort, he showed his usual massive early gears.
