The kennel of Fechin Mullen enjoyed a night to remember at Youghal track on Wednesday night. Wins with Blitzn Jet, Blitzn Babs and Electrified making it a treble on the night.
It all started in the opener, Blitzn Jet making a winning debut for Anna Stapel and Fechin Mullen. Nomore Drama made a lot of the running, but the winner, an August puppy, was that bit stronger in the closing stages. Half a length the difference, in 29.87.
Two races later, in the third, an A5, Blitzn Babs ran out a most impressive winner for trainer Fechin Mullen and owner Anna Stapel.
An eye-catcher in defeat on more than one occasion, the 2-1 favourite finally put it all together. In front before the opening corner, the winner stayed on powerfully to wide by a wide margin, in 29.40.
NIGHT TO REMEMBER
Electrified made it a night to remember in the twelfth, an A6, with the Q-T-Bunch-Syndicate-owned runner winning in 29.75.
The May puppy putting on a fine performance to land the spoils.
QUICKEST ON THE CLOCK
Quickest on the clock was Ballycowen Lexi, as the Denis Fitzgerald-trained runner made it three straight wins in the A3-A4 contest.
Prominent throughout, she went into overdrive heading down the back straight, staying on powerfully, the June puppy came home a length and a half clear of Aherla Moll, in 29.10.
Witches Phonenix, owned by Liam Twomey, made it win number 13 of her career. Unknown Shadow flew from traps and he quickly moved six clear heading down the back.
However, the 6-4 market leader put on yet another powerful finish to land the A0/A1 feature race, flying home to win, by a length and a half, in a brilliant, 29.17. Another fabulous display from the very talented winner.
SCOTTY ON TOP
In the previous race, an A3 affair, Seaview Scotty, a 5-4 favourite, for the Walsh brothers, in Ring, took up the running at the opening corner.
He pulled right away to beat Thats Not Nice, by seven and a half lengths, in 29.16.
