Barry Drake

CANVAS DARCY delivered the performance of the night at Youghal on Wednesday night, clocking a top class 28.96 when winning the tenth, an A3 and making it a double on the night for Jerry Kelleher.

The classy enough early pace to slip around in front and from there, the outcome was never in any doubt. A brilliant display from the talented winner. Hollyhill Dash ran well for second, three lengths back.

GREAT PERFORMANCE

Vivaro Blaze confirmed his status as a very promising sort when taking the closing race, an A3, for Ken Busteed.

Why Geldof set a strong early pace, but the winner took over before the final corner and then kept on gamely to land the spoils. A really smart 29.22 winning performance.

ALL ABOUT JERRY

Jerry Man, trained by Jake Faul for Sean Paul, made it the perfect four from four in the twelfth of the night.

Putting the race to bed heading down the back straight, he absolutely powered home to win the A4 with plenty to spare. His sectionals coming home were top notch and he stopped the clock, in 29.24.

IN OTHER RACES

Liam Twomey's Witches Sydney impressed in the fourth, an A3. Eight lengths behind Portrait at halfway, the winner produced one of her customary big finishes to land the spoils. A length the difference, in 29.30.

Nonevernomore made it five wins from just eleven outings in the seventh, an A0-A1. The promising August puppy flew around the opening turns in front, but he was then passed down the far side by Seaview Boss and Thunder Blue. Trained by Fechin Mullen for Thomas Hannon, the winner pulled out all the stops to get back up. In a thrilling finish, a neck separated the front two, in 29.33.
