BROKE WITH HOPE went quickest on the clock in Youghal on Wednesday night.
A member of a very promising litter, the June puppy, who is owned by the Step-Into-My-Office-Syndicate made short work of his opposition with a stunning 29.07 winning run.
Only four went to traps for the A5 contest, but he was simply in a different league. In control early, he raced clear down the back straight, showing bundles of pace, he scored impressively.
TESS BOUNCED BACK
Hollyhill Tess, for the kennel of Ger Gubbins, Fermoy, bounced back to her brilliant best with a magnificent 29.29 winning performance.
The convincing winner was making the most of the drop-in class to take the fourth for favourite backers. In control after a great start, the 11-10 favourite quickly put the race to bed. A brilliant display, four and a half lengths clear of Murleys Reel, in 29.29. It was a 12th career success for the talented lady.
The feature race on the night came in the sixth, an A0-A1, with Kerryroad Butch getting up late on to record a double for Kevin McLean.
The 7-2 winner lost her position early, but she got a great run along the inside to beat Witches Phoenix, who did herself no favours moving off the second corner. A neck the margin, in 29.62, making it a double for Kevin Mclean.
MCLEAN LANDED THE SECOND
Clonmel trainer Kevin McLean landed the second with Fozzys Thirteen, the 11-2 outsider was always close to the pace and she proved too strong for early leader Watch Out Dan on the turns for home.
Canvas Pip missed the start badly, but he ran on for second, just two and a half lengths back, in 29.58.
Moving clear early, Slaneyside Mcduf made it two wins from just five career outings in the fifth, and A4, for Derek Kehoe, Thurles.
Get Old Blue made big late gains, but the 7-4 winner still had two lengths to spare, in 29.77.
MARLY WIN’S IN STYLE
Kehoe doubled up in the tenth with Slaneyside Marly winning in style.
A short-priced 11-8 favourite, once he took up the running before the bend, he then raced clear to win easily, in 29.64.
