A PETER CRONIN TREBLE IN WATERFORD

A PETER CRONIN TREBLE IN WATERFORD

Barry Drake

MOONCOIN trainer Peter Cronin was in great form in Waterford on Tuesday night, recording a superb treble.

The first of those winners came in the opener, as Vivs Rosie impressed when winning on debut. Owned by Mark Burroughs and William Blades, the October puppy was in front before the opening turn and she showed plenty of all-round pace to score, by four lengths, in 29.05.

TWO ON THE NIGHT

In race five, Treacys Blake showed plenty of staying power to win the A7 event for owner, Jim Treacy.

Last early, the August puppy made his move down the back straight. He didn't enjoy the clearest of runs between the final corners, but he proved a class apart late on. Pulling clear, he scored by six lengths, in 29.67.

MAKE THAT THREE

The Cronin treble was completed after Angry Tornado delivered a classy performance in the 12th, an A3, for owner, Liam Walsh.

Having only his second career outing, the August puppy drove a great opening corner to turn second. The leader had shot four lengths clear, but the winner caught the eye, showing huge pace, he stormed home to win, in 28.81. A really impressive winning display from a rapidly improving youngster.
