MANDOLIN FAVOURITE FOR INTERNATIONAL BUT DUKE A MOVER

Ian Fortune

Droopys Mandolin remains the 13-8 with layers Boylesports to land the Time Dundalk International on Friday night but last Saturday’s brilliant Champion Stakes winner Daleroad Duke has already come in for support which has seen his price cut from 2-1 to 7-4.

Produce Stakes winner is the shortest priced of Pat Bukley’s trio from an ideal draw on the fence. The rapidly improving son of Droopys Sydney moved well in a trial at Dundalk last Thursday and is now 5-1 to win the famous invitation after opening up at 4-1.

His kennel companions Race of Champions winner Coolavanny Otto and Cesarewitch champion Singalong Dolly are next in the betting. Coolavanny Otto is 6-1 while Singalong Dolly is 8-1. Tribal Sy comes into the race on the back of a tremendous victory in the Tipperary Cup and is the outsider of the field despite a near perfect draw in the strips. He may well attract support at 12-1 given the fact that he is likely to have room to maneouvre in the early stages.
