Magical Luka seems destined for stardom.
That was probably known before Saturday but he further enhanced his already massive reputation at Dundalk as he raced to a brilliant victory in the final of the Carrick Aldo @ Stud ON1 400.
Coming away racing, the brilliantly fast son of King Sheeran and Magical Mary was always in the perfect position, leading by a comfortable length into the turn, clocking a rapid 7.04 sectional. Once turning in front, he would ease on to beat the always chasing Exclusion Order.
Pat Guilfoyle’s star would fly up the home straight to emerge a three and three quarter length scorer in a magnificent 20.86. Exclusion Order was second with Rolo Tokyo a further six lengths adrift in third. It seems certain that Magical Luka will develop into a serious performer and we await his reappearance with great anticipation. It will also be hugely interesting to see if he remains over two bends for a crack at the Irish Sprint Cup or makes the step up to four bends.
