It wouldn’t be a Bank holiday Monday without a tremendous card to look forward to at Enniscorthy. Tonight’s action is headlined by the second round of the Elite Black @ Stud May Unraced Stake and all eyes will be on fastest opening round scorer Ballinabola Jake.

The Pat Buckley trained star is bred in the purple with his dam a litter sister to Ballinabola Ed and he displayed real promise in his debut success. The son of Glengar Bale displayed real pace from the second turn to take charge before emerging a comfortable winner and a repeat of that display would most likely secure him a second victory.

He lines out in trap four in the opening heat and has to take on fellow opening round winners Listen Here Ok and Mochonog Mystery. The first named is well housed on the fence and could emerge as the main threat but Ballinabola Jake gives the impression he will improve greatly on his latest effort and is selected to come home clear.

Opening round winners Mini Skinny, Ashwood News and Roanna Sharp lines up side by side on the inside of the track in Heat 2. All three are respected but the nod goes to Ashwood News. A winner in 29.11 last week, the son of Good News moved with fluency and he can assert in the opening yards to see off Roanna Sharp.

Alans Molly has almost four lengths in hand on opening round clocks with her rivals in Heat 3. She emerged a five length winner last week and is likely to make a bold bid again. Fairly Giddy ran into Ballinabola Jake last week but could find this a little easier. She can emerge as the main danger.

The final heat is perhaps the most open of the four with a number of the line-up holding claims. Blackhill Jake is the sole opening round scorer in the contest but Whitewood Lexi and Zaconey Adonis actually went faster. Much will come down to the opening exchanges but Zaconey Adonis is selected after an encouraging opening round effort.
