IRGT TO BENEFIT FROM BALLYMAC CELTIC DRAW

Ian Fortune

The ‘Ballymac’ prefix will be in the news for different reasons in the next few weeks after we were notified of a wonderful fundraising effort being made by Ballymac Celtic.

The club, which is a member of the Kerry District League, hails from Ballymacelligott and it’s fitting that their club crest features a greyhound, given the success of the canine stars from the area.

The club are running a raffle with an estimated €1,200 worth of prizes to be handed out. The plan is to sell €5,000 worth of tickets with the proceeds being split in two. One half will go to the Irish Retired Greyhound Trust (IRGT) while the remainder will go to the club itself to cover future expenses and facilities.

It's a wonderful initiative and we wish them the very best with their efforts. The draw, which will be streamed live on Facebook, will be made on the weekend of January 15th and 16th at the Kingdom Stadium.
