After the news broke last week that March On Freddie was bound for Shelbourne Park for a tilt at the Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby, it was confirmed yesterday that the stunningly fast son of Dorotas Wildcat will have his first look at the Dublin venue on Saturday.
Dave Mullins is set to bring his star across on Saturday afternoon and will give him a pre-racing trial later that evening. It also came to light over the weekend that his special authority has gone through, opening the way for his Derby challenge.
March On Freddie, who was last seen running away with the Puppy Classic at Nottingham is currently just 12-1 with sponsors Boylesports for Derby glory. That price is unlikely to contract this weekend unless he produces something truly extraordinary, which seems unlikely in his first look at the track.
