It was most refreshing to read the words of Derek Foley in the Daily Star this morning as he painted a wonderful picture of Tuesday night’s action at Shelbourne Park.

Foley was in the restaurant as one of the first punters back in the doors of the famous venue after the easing of the Covid-19 protocols and he clearly enjoyed his experience.

He caught up with a few punters that had come from far and wide and they too clearly enjoyed their night.

In Foley’s own words, “A sporting return to Shelbourne Park last night with all the frills and trappings of sport as we know it: Food! A crowd! A drink! A bet! Because last night, the Irish Greyhound Board cracked it, real sport, post-Covid”.

On behalf of us all invested in the sport, it’s safe to say, Derek, you’re welcome back any time. If you can it’s worth picking up a copy of the Daily Star to read Derek’s piece.
