Defending champion De Lahdedah trialed at Towcester on Tuesday afternoon ahead of the start of the Star Sports English Greyhound Derby next week.

The brilliant son of Lenson Bocko moved fluently to record 28.82 in his first look at the track since lifting the trophy last summer.

Liam Dowling also trialed the remainder of his team, albeit over the shorter sprint trip. Lightly raced puppy Ballymac Rapid looked very comfortable at the track, posting a fastest of the session 15.73 for the 270m trip, while the even less experienced Ballymac Pebb moved well in a 15.75 return.

Ballymac Tibet will almost certainly want much further in time but he ran well to clock 16.03, while Ballymac Jester went considerably slower, stopping the clock in 16.61.
