DASHING TORO made a winning debut over the 750-yard distance when winning the first semi-final of the Kingdom Stadium Open 750 on Friday night.

Owned by the Twice A Day Everyday Syndicate, the even-money shot delivered an impressive winning performance to win in style. A quick start took the talented sort to the front, and he was in control. Fashion Model was within a couple of lengths at the winning line for the first time; however, the one in front was displaying plenty of pace up front, and he stayed on well to score, in 41.55. Five lengths back to Fashion Model in second, with a further two and a half lengths back to Wellstreet Cath in third place. Only four went to traps.

    BACK TO WINNING FORM

In the second semi-final, Daleroad Poppy bounced back to winning form for trainer Patrick Guilfoyle. In the ownership of Thomas and John O'Keeffe, the 3-1 shot was in third early as both Keelans Joker and Labana Cody were flying along up front. Keelans Joker, the even-money favourite, checked up badly soon after the opening corners, and that left Labana Cody a couple of lengths clear of Daleroad Poppy. The latter was showing massive speed from halfway, and the impressive winner stayed on powerfully to win. A 41.78 winning performance, three and a half lengths clear of Delicate Less, with three and a half lengths back to Labana Cody in third.
