DALEROAD DUKE CAN MAKE ALL IN THE OPENING SEMI FINAL OF THE RACE OF CHAMPIONS

Barry Drake

Daleroad Duke is selected to lay down a serious marker in the opening semi-final of the €15,000 to the winner Callaway Pro Am @ Stud Race Of Champions 550 at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium tonight.

Trained by Patrick Guilfoyle for owner Thomas O'Keeffe, the classy performer returned to winning ways last time, posting a really quick 28.23 around Curraheen Park. He operates well from the inside of the track and from the rails pitch, he is fancied to make every yard of the running in this.

The Pat Buckley-trained Ower Cracker and Liam Dowling's Ballymac Senan are others that should be in the mix.

The second semi-final looks like a wide-open affair and Coolavanny Otto could well return to form from the inside of the track. Pat Buckley's runner displayed massive pace around course and distance in the Juvenile Classic and if returning to that sort of form, he should go close in this.

Laurels winner High Trend looks the most likely early leader and he would go well off the front. Liam Dowling's Ballymac Dapper is another with plenty of pace and he should be involved as well.
