BUCKS AND WILLOW TO MAKE SALVER RAID

Pat Buckley may have side-stepped the English Derby this year but he will be travelling across the water at the weekend as his brilliant sprinter Flashing Willow is set to take his chance in the Arena Racing Company Kent Silver Salver at Central Park.

The brilliant son of Laughil Blake races in the second of the four opening round heats and will certainly be amongst the favourites to land the valuable prize. Of course, it won’t be his first race in the UK.

He had a single start at Towcester last year, smashing the 270m track record. Should that run still be in the memory of the layers, one would suspect there won’t be any fancy prices available about Flashing Willow in Sunday’s opening round.
