BORN RACER CRUISES TO SUPERSPRINT SUCCESS AT CURRAHEEN PARK

Barry Drake

BORN RACER made it a hat trick of straight wins when landing the feature at Curraheen Park on Saturday night, the €5,000 to the winner Two Wheel Training Supersprint at Curraheen Park.

Trained by Jennifer O'Donnell for John Mitchell, the classy performer impressed in recent weeks and there were no mistakes from the 4-5 favourite. He produced a great start along the inside of the track and the super-talented performer led around the opening turns. All class, he powered up the home straight to land the spoils. A winner of the Fair Warrior at Mullingar at the back end of last year, this was another big win for the classy sprinter. A 17.49 winning performance, with two lengths back to Satin Milo, who himself ran another big race in defeat.

PACE AND POWER

There's no stopping Mister Myles around Cork in recent times and he displayed plenty of pace and power when winning the closing race, an AO, for Ross Myles and the Clonmel Five Syndicate. Valleys Angel took them along up front, but Mister Myles stormed around the opening turns to turn second. Five lengths the difference at halfway, Mister Myles, as usual, produced a flying finish to get where it mattered. A 28.77 winning run, with a short head the margin at the winning line.

BACK TO HIS BEST

In the sixth, the A2 575, Da Real Madjack returned to top form for Eamonn Finn. No stranger to big performances, the powerful running tracker was bouncing back to his best when showing massive speed. In top gear in the second half of the race, the 6-4 favourite pulled right away for an impressive winning performance, clocking 31.38 when five and a half lengths clear of Knockacrump Bell.

FANTASTIC 3.26 SECTIONAL

In the fourth of the night, an A1, Strideaway Kid produced a flying 28.47 winning run for Michael Spillane. A fantastic 3.26 sectional put him in control early and from there, he always looked good up front. A newcomer to the venue, he clocked a career-best performance when winning. Two lengths back to Rosstemple Pace in second.
