ROXY SETS STANDARD FOR SECOND WEEK RUNNING

ROXY SETS STANDARD FOR SECOND WEEK RUNNING

Ian Fortune

Benalmadena Roxy set the pace in the Boylepsorts A3 Bitch 525 at Kilkenny on Friday for the second week running.

Stephen Pennel’s daughter of Dorotas Woo Hoo was understandably a hot favourite for the first of the four second round heats and she duly obliged in style.

Taking up the running at the turn, the Kevin Loughnane trained puppy raced to a seven length verdict over Ring My Bell in 29.06.

MUFFIN CONTINUES FINE FORM

Muffin won the second in similar fashion for David Hanlon. Racing prominently in the early yards, the daughter of Droopys Cain went to the front on the bend before making every yard thereafter.

Redzer Ruinart did finish fast but Muffin held on by a head in 29.23.

LARK ON SONG

Henry Kelly’s Karlow Lark (Droopys Jet/ Karlow Ming) added to her already impressive tally in heat 3, making the most of a clean passage into the back straight to take over at the head of affairs.

The early paced trio of Kilara Odessa, Autumn Zara and Pookies Capri were all in the firing line at some point but Karlow Lark took the contest by the scruff of the neck and emerged a facile seven and a half length winner in 29.15. Kilara Odessa lost nothing in defeat in second.

IZZY SLIPS THE FIELD

The final heat was messy affair with Cooneen Izzy taking the opportunity.

Despite taking a bump herself at the turn, Joe O’Donnell’s daughter of Droopys Buick and Sherrys Rebound led the field into the back straight and went onto contain the challenge of Well Informed by a half length in 29.81.
