DEADLY DEBUT PERFORMANCE FROM BIG SHOW

DEADLY DEBUT PERFORMANCE FROM BIG SHOW

Peter Farrell

It was an all-graded affair at Clonmel greyhound stadium last night but there was one massive performance in a 300-yard contest as Deadly Big Show produced a stunning debut to score in a sensational 15.91.

Owned by Garry Hannon and trained by Mark O’Donovan, Deadly Big Show is a September 18’ whelp but was having just his first career start last night. However, inexperience certainly didn’t cost this greyhound as he boasted six very attractive winning lines of qualifying form prior to stepping onto the Suirside circuit last night. In what was an Open 300-yard contest, it was clear from an early stage that Deadly Big Show meant business as he bolted from trap three to leave his very useful rivals for dust entering the opening corner. Rounding the turn without breaking stride, Deadly Big Show, a son of Droopys Jet - Humble Star, powered up the home straight and he had over five lengths in hand over Wilderness Gold at the winning line. The time was a scarcely believable 15.91, just a length and a half off Calling Spice’s 15.81 track record and if memory serves, the fastest at the track since 2016. Expect to hear more from the greyhound in the coming months.
