BIG PERFORMANCES IN THE KINGDOM

Barry Drake

THERE were a couple of outstanding performances in the Kingdom on Friday night.

Quickest run of the night came in the closing race, Barnfield Coco clocking a top class 28.31 for Patrick O'Leary.

Once the October youngster slipped around in front, the outcome was never in any doubt. Kicking clear in the second half of the race, the most impressive winner pulled eight and a half lengths clear of Clounbrane Ole. The winner has now won three of his six career outings.

PESTANA @ STUD

Fawn Cruiser posted 28.63 in the opening heat of the Pestana @ Stud Droopys Kennels Hospital Stake.

Trained by James O'Regan for Richard Garnham, the August puppy showed plenty of pace to deny Cashen Harbour, by half a length, in 28.63.

In the following heat, Ballymac Emily also clocked a fabulous 28.63. Liam Dowling's lady produced a quick start and she dominated from start to finish. Two and a half lengths back to Treaty Star in second.

In heat three, Tokenfire Blaze showed plenty of early pace to win for Seamus Cooper. A really quick starter, he proved a length too good for Restless Point, in 28.69.

In the fourth and final heat, Cashen Tatyana overcame trouble in running to land the spoils for Chris Houlihan. That's three wins on the bounce for the winner who clocked 29.01, a head clear of Ballymac Luckily.

BALLYMAC ANTON @ STUD

In the opening semi-final of the Ballymac Anton @ Stud Quad Distance, Hollyhill Davy recorded back to back wins for the kennel of Ger Gubbins.

Making the trip from Fermoy worthwhile, the August puppy was forced to pull out all the stops to deny front-running Mohane Maggie, by a short head, in 30.46. Another really strong winning performance from the likeable August puppy.

In the following race, the second semi-final, Deni Deni ran out a very convincing winner for Tamara Butler. Taking over at the opening corners, the August puppy then showed plenty of pace to quickly put the race to bed. A nice performance in 30.47, four and a half lengths clear of Church St Millie.

IN OTHER RACES

Of the other races, Seomra Bolger caught the eye when making a winning debut in the third of the night. Owned by Patrick O'Connell Snr, the December puppy rates an exciting sort after stopping the clock, in 28.58. Showing sizzling early pace, he was six clear down the far side.

Saleen Naomi ran a big race in second, closing the leader down late on. Two lengths between the front two.
