There were several eye-catching performances at Clonmel last night as a number of greyhounds dipped under the 29 second barrier. The star of the show however, was Cavies Buzz as he produced a polished front running performance to land the spoils.

Given the recent form of Caves Buzz, the Deise Dreamers syndicate could be forgiven for thinking they are indeed in dreamland with their greyhound as the talented black recorded another superb win last night to make it four wins from his last five starts. Out like a rocket from trap five in the final race of the night, the John Quinn trained dog showed sizzling early gears to take a healthy lead around the opening corner. Once in front, the son of Laughil Blake - Cavies Doll went about his business in expert fashion as he dominated throughout to come home six lengths clear of nearest rival, Five Alley Crakl in second. The time was a super-fast 28.56.

Another to catch the eye was Ballinabola Bolt in race nine as he recorded a first career win in impressive fashion.

Owned by Brendan Murphy, Ballinabola Bolt is a young October 18’ whelp whose stock rocketed last night with a very professional performance in race nine. The potential was obviously there with this greyhound as he clocked 18.97 during qualifying at Enniscorthy and despite running into a couple of hotshots in his previous two starts, Ballinabola Bolt broke his duck in fine style at the third attempt. Quickly into stride from five, the son of Ballymac Eske - Piercestown Moll had to battle with Cloncunny Mike for the majority of the race but showing fine dash from halfway, the ‘Bolt’ was too strong in the latter stages of the contest as he came home a length and a half better off in a very slick time of 28.70.

On a night of strong performances, Montys Flame doubled his tally to two wins with an off the pace performance in race ten.

Liberty Express led early on in this contest as he was swiftly into stride from trap one but Montys Flame always looked a threat as he lurked closely in behind. Owned by Joseph Crotty, Montys Flame bided his time well and as the winning line approached, the son of Droopys Cain - Annies Ace stormed up the home straight to claim a length victory in a very smart time of 28.78

Eskvale Jaykay has found wins hard to come by in recent weeks but he duly put things right in race eight with a trap to line display.

Owned by Paul Davies, Eskvale Jaykay trapped very well wearing the striped jacket and he received all the racing room in the world approaching the opening corner. Stretching out nicely down the back straight, the son of Kinloch Brae - Kereight Star dominated throughout and he stormed home to record a seven length victory. The time was a fast 28.81

Despite being somewhat further back in terms of the clock, Fiveoclocksomwer was arguably the most impressive winner of the night in race seven.

An extremely well bred son of Sonic - Ballinakil Clare, this young April 19’ whelp made light work of his field as Majorie & Bruce McDonald’s greyhound produced an excellent display of front running. Fast away wearing the stripes, Fiveoclocksomwer wasn’t taking any prisoners as he showed blistering pace into the opening corner before galloping into an unassailable lead down the back. Showing no signs of any let up late on, the Graham Holland trained black came home over seven lengths clear in a smart time of 28.84.
