Rásaíocht Con Éireann (RCÉ) / Greyhound Racing Ireland (GRI) today published the 2022 Classics and Feature Events Calendar.

RCÉ will be working closely with sponsors and track management to deliver on the schedule outlined. Despite COVID-19 measures still in place, RCÉ is confident that the calendar can be delivered in accordance with the schedule set out.

Derek Frehill, Director of Racing for RCÉ said: “As always, we recognise the importance of the scheduling of the events to offer owners & trainers the greatest choice when planning their campaigns for the year ahead.  This year a clash with concerts due to be hosted in Croke Park and the possible knock-on for visiting fans to the Irish Greyhound Derby Final also needed to be considered.  The final will now take place a week later on Saturday 24th September.  This will help to address the strong demand by greyhound racing fans for accommodation and travel to Irish Greyhound Racings premier event”. He continued, “This change of date also means that the Winter Racing Festival will now move to a new calendar slot of 29th & 30th December, which offers Shelbourne Park along with racing fans an exciting end to December 2022”.

The calendar provides for all key events to take place in 2022:
