ALF REMAINS HOT ORDER FOR ISLANDBRIDGE

Ian Fortune

Ballinakill Alf remains the hot favourite for Islandbridge Sprint success with the brilliantly fast Graham Holland trained star just even money with layers Boylesports to come out on in the famous sprint event.

It will be a fortnight since his last run when he lines out in Friday’s semis although he was kept on tune with a slick 18.59 trial last weekend.

Cree Jo Jo wasn’t far behind Ballinakill Alf in the opening round, pushing him right to line and he is second in at 6-1. Romeo Falco may have been narrowly beaten in his opening round effort but we did get a glimpse of what he was capable of in a voided contest a week earlier.

He is an 8-1 chance, a couple of points clear of his kennel companion and litter brother Romeo Taylor who is 10-1 alongside superb opening round scorer Whatever Next. Indeed the 10-1 available about the Barry Clancy trained Whatever Next may tempt a few punters in.
